I am pretty sad as well. Everybody has different opinions towards him due to the criminal allegations he's had, but regardless, he was a brilliant musician and there will never be anyone quite like him.

It broke my heart when I heard the news. I only recently developed in interest in him as all my life, my father has condemned him as a child-molesting prick. My dad has every album, band or song that changed and influenced music in CD or record form under his roof - except Michael Jackson. He absolutely refuses to keep any MJ. So most of my life, the only MJ I ever heard was other people's music, and of course I didn't exactly go 'hey who wrote this song', so I never knew that it WAS MJ.
so recently I began hearing some of his music, and now I've developed a great deal of respect for him.. a little too late, it seems. I would have loved to meet him, or go to one of his shows.
And he was so honest, so sweet - you rarely get that anymore.
I also feel sorry for him. I believe he was a child in an adults body who never grew up. My journal explains it in better detail, but it explains so much of hius crazy antics, and it just makes me feel sorry that the media exploited that and turned him into some hulking, creepy figure to fear, which in reality he is not. I've hated him my whole life, and it's only a few months ago that I'm really starting to respect him and his music.

My father and I always loved him too. He just told me a hour ago that he was dead, and it maked me so sad. I can't believe such an amazing artist died at such a young age.. It's a big loss.

It's a pretty big shock..I loved his music when I was a child. He was a pretty big influence. Can't quite believe how young he is though..it's really sad D:
